The Variable Rake Angle Hydraulic Shearing Machine by National Cutting Tools is an advanced hydraulic guillotine shear designed for versatile sheet and plate cutting across a broad range of thicknesses. When cutting thin sheet metal, a steep rake angle causes severe twisting, camber, and bowing; conversely, cutting thick plate requires a steeper rake angle to concentrate hydraulic force and prevent machine overload. Our variable rake system allows the operator to adjust the top blade angle push-button from the control console. Built with a heavy interlocked steel frame, the machine incorporates synchronized hydraulic cylinders that adjust the top blade rake angle from 0.5 degrees up to 2.5 degrees. Combined with motorized blade clearance adjustment, this machine produces burr-free, straight sheared edges on thin 1 mm sheet as well as heavy 16 mm or 20 mm steel plates with zero sheet curl. Key Features Motorized Variable Rake Angle: Programmable angle adjustment from 0.5° to 2.5° optimizes cut quality for both thin sheets and heavy plates. Motorized Rapid Blade Gap Adjustment: Calibrated lever or motorized adjustment sets optimum blade clearance according to plate thickness and grade. Hydraulic Plate Clamping System: Multiple independent hold-down cylinders exert progressive clamping force to prevent plate slippage. Four-Sided High-Chromium Blades: Premium HCHCr (D2) alloy steel blades can be rotated four times before requiring resharpening. Motorized Ball-Screw Back Gauge: High-speed back gauge with digital readout ensures rapid sheet positioning and ±0.1 mm repeatability. Shadow Line Lighting: Optical shadow projection line provides a clear visual guide for shearing along marked chalk lines.
