The Planner Type Bed Lathe Machine is engineered with an extra-wide, planar-style bed construction to provide maximum support for exceptionally heavy rolls, large-diameter flanged pipes, and long structural shafts. Standard lathe beds can experience carriage rocking and bed deflection under extreme billet weights; our planner-style wide bed distributes the massive carriage and workpiece loads evenly over broad, flat guideways. Featuring a heavy-duty headstock with case-hardened alloy gears running in an oil bath, the machine delivers steady low-RPM torque for machining tough alloy steels, chilled cast iron rolls, and fabricated tubular assemblies. The wide bed stance ensures true alignment from headstock to tailstock over lengths up to 6 meters, eliminating tailstock sag and holding tight diameter tolerances.
