The Horizontal Geared Lathe Machine by National Cutting Tools is an all-geared industrial lathe engineered for continuous, high-torque metal turning, facing, boring, and screw cutting across industrial machine shops. Unlike belt-driven lathes that slip under heavy chip loads, an all-geared headstock delivers positive, non-slip gear-driven power directly from the motor to the spindle, ensuring consistent cutting speeds even during heavy roughing cuts on high-tensile steels. Constructed on a heavy, stress-relieved cast iron bed with induction-hardened guideways, the machine features precision-hobbed and case-hardened alloy steel gears operating in an enclosed splash-oil bath. The wide range of spindle speeds allows operators to turn large-diameter workpieces at high-torque low RPMs or machine small-diameter parts at high surface speeds with mirror-smooth finishes. Enclosed Apron & Gearbox: Protects feed and thread gears from metal chips and dust, extending machine service life. Comprehensive Thread Cutting: Quickly selects metric, Whitworth, and pipe thread pitches through the integrated feed gearbox. Heavy Duty Foot Brake: Mechanical or electromagnetic foot brake provides instantaneous spindle stopping for operator safety.
