The Geared Vertical Milling Machine by National Cutting Tools is a heavy-duty industrial milling machine designed for face milling, slot cutting, pocket milling, and heavy profiling on structural steel components, dies, and machine parts. Unlike light turret mills that vibrate under heavy face mills, an all-geared vertical mill transmits high torque through case-hardened alloy gears directly to the ISO-40 or ISO-50 spindle taper, enabling heavy metal-removal rates in tough materials. Constructed from heavy close-grained cast iron with wide rectangular box guideways, the machine features a large T-slotted work table with motorized power feeds on longitudinal, cross, and vertical axes. The swiveling milling head swivels up to 45 degrees left and right, allowing angular face milling and chamfering without reclamping the workpiece. Wide Rectangular Box Guideways: Hand-scraped and induction-hardened box ways provide exceptional stability against heavy tool thrust. Swiveling Vertical Head: Head tilts ±45 degrees on a graduated scale for angular milling and compound bevel operations. Integrated Coolant & Chip Tray: High-flow electric pump floods the cutting zone to cool carbide inserts and flush swarf.
