The Pipe Beveling Machine by National Cutting Tools is an industrial pipe end preparation machine engineered for cutting precision weld bevels, facing, and deburring on steel pipes and tubes. In certified pipeline installations, boiler fabrication, and industrial piping spool construction, pipe ends must be beveled to standard angles (30° / 37.5°) with a uniform root face (land) to achieve 100% full-penetration weld joints that pass radiographic inspection. Available in bench-mounted workshop configurations and portable field designs, the machine clamps the pipe concentric to the cutter spindle using self-centering mechanical or hydraulic chucks. High-speed cutter heads fitted with indexable carbide inserts revolve around the pipe end, shaving clean, uniform bevels in seconds without generating sparks, fumes, or heat-affected zones (HAZ). Key Features Cold Rotary Machining Process: Generates no sparks, dust, or thermal distortion, leaving metallurgy unchanged for immediate code welding. Simultaneous Beveling & Facing: Faces the pipe end square while cutting the external weld prep angle and internal deburring land in one pass. Adjustable Bevel Angle Tooling: Standard tooling accommodates 30°, 37.5°, and 45° bevels as well as custom J-prep profiles. Heavy Self-Centering Chucking: Concentric clamping jaws lock pipes from 1" up to 12" OD securely without tube ovality distortion. Carbide Indexable Insert Economy: Uses standard commercial carbide inserts that can be indexed multiple times for low cost-per-bevel. High Production Speed: Completes high-precision weld bevels on standard 48.3 mm or 76 mm pipes in under 15 to 25 seconds.
