The C Frame Power Press (also known as an Open Back Inclinable / Gap Frame Press) by National Cutting Tools is a high-speed mechanical press designed for blanking, piercing, punching, trimming, and shallow forming operations. The open-front C-shaped frame provides unobstructed access to the die area from three sides, making it ideal for manual feeding, automated progressive die feeding, and rapid die changeovers. Constructed from high-grade close-grained cast iron or heavy fabricated steel plate, the frame is normalized to resist throat deflection under heavy stamping impacts. The forged alloy steel crankshaft rotates in precision phosphor-bronze bush bearings, driven by a heavy dynamically balanced flywheel. Equipped with a positive rolling-key mechanical clutch or pneumatic friction clutch-brake, the press delivers sharp, high-speed strokes up to 60 to 120 SPM. Key Features Open C-Frame Architecture: Provides three-sided die access for easy loading of strip stock, progressive tooling, and automated coil feeders. High-Tensile Forged Alloy Crankshaft: Machined from EN-9/EN-24 steel, ground on bearing journals for smooth, high-impact stamping. Heavy Cast Flywheel with Dynamic Balance: Stores and delivers massive kinetic energy at the bottom of the stroke for clean sheet blanking. Continuous Phosphor-Bronze Bearings: High-grade bronze bushings withstand continuous shock loading with minimal wear. Adjustable Stroke Mechanism: Variable stroke eccentric allows rapid setting of ram stroke length to suit blanking or drawing operations. Inclinable Bed Option (OBI): Rear-incline frame allows stamped components to drop out cleanly by gravity into collection bins.
