The Wire Drawing Machine by National Cutting Tools is an industrial continuous cold-drawing machine engineered to reduce the cross-sectional diameter of steel wire rod while enhancing its tensile strength, surface finish, and dimensional tolerance. In wire mills, fastener plants, and fencing factories, raw hot-rolled wire rod must be drawn down through successive tungsten carbide dies to achieve the exact gauge and mechanical properties required for finished wire products. Featuring heavy cast-iron drawing capstans (bull blocks) driven by high-torque electric motors through heavy-duty reduction gearboxes, the machine delivers steady pulling force without wire slippage. Water-cooled die boxes and capstans dissipate frictional heat, while dry lubricant soap or wet drawing baths ensure smooth die passage and mirror-bright surface finish on mild steel, high-carbon spring steel, and stainless steel wire. Key Features Hard-Faced Drawing Capstans: Cast steel capstans coated with tungsten carbide or hard alloy deposit, precision ground to resist wire groove wear. Water-Cooled Die Boxes: Continuous internal water cooling prevents die thermal degradation and lubricant breakdown during high-speed drawing. Heavy Reduction Gearbox: Precision-hobbed helical and spur gears running in an enclosed oil bath deliver massive low-end torque. Pneumatic Dancer & Tension Control: Maintains steady wire tension between multi-block drawing stages, preventing wire snapping during acceleration. Automatic Safety Brake System: Pneumatic disc brakes stop capstans instantly if wire breaks or in emergency stop situations. Flexible Die Configuration: Accommodates standard tungsten carbide dies for single-block or multi-block continuous reductions.
