The Steel Bar Threading Machine by National Cutting Tools is a heavy-duty production machine tool designed for cutting external threads on solid steel bars, high-tensile structural bolts, and anchor shafts. Threading tough carbon steel grades (EN-8, EN-9, EN-19) requires massive headstock torque, vibration damping, and rigid tool holding to prevent tool chatter and premature chaser chipping. Built with a heavy stress-relieved cast bed and an all-geared multi-speed transmission, this machine delivers the low-RPM, high-torque output required to machine coarse pitch metric and imperial threads up to M65 / 2.1/2" diameter in a single pass. The self-opening tangential die head releases automatically at the programmed stop, ensuring rapid cycle times and consistent thread dimensions over continuous industrial shifts. Key Features Heavy All-Geared Headstock: Hardened alloy steel gears running in a sealed oil bath provide low spindle speeds (30, 60, 90 RPM) with immense cutting torque. Tangential Chaser Die System: Four-chaser configuration cuts on the end face, allowing multiple regrinds and exceptional consumable economy. Heavy-Duty Self-Centering Vise: Dual-screw vise with hardened serrated jaws holds high-tensile bar stock dead on center under heavy cutting loads. Positive Lead Screw Engagement: Eliminates lead error and pitch distortion on long threaded lengths and coarse pitches. Automatic Trip Mechanism: Opens the die head instantaneously at the length stop, preventing thread damage during carriage reverse. High-Volume Coolant Flushing: Gear-driven coolant pump washes away heavy swarf and keeps cutting temperatures stable.
