The Rebar Cold Forging Machine (also known as a Rebar Upsetting Machine) is a high-tonnage hydraulic press designed to expand the cross-sectional area of TMT rebar ends before thread cutting. When threads are cut directly onto standard rebar, the root diameter of the thread is smaller than the original bar diameter, creating a reduced cross-section that can fail before the main bar reaches yield strength. Cold forging enlarges the bar end so that after thread cutting, the thread root diameter equals or exceeds the nominal bar diameter, guaranteeing bar-break failure outside the coupler connection. Delivering up to 230 metric tons of hydraulic compressive force, the machine grips the rebar in heavy split dies and axially cold-forges the end within 10 to 15 seconds. The cold-working process also increases grain density and yield strength in the upset zone, ensuring complete compliance with stringent nuclear, metro rail, and high-seismic building codes (ACI 318 Type 2 and BS 8110). Rapid Cycle Time (10–15 Seconds): Fast hydraulic approach, full-pressure squeeze, and instant retraction enable high daily output for rebar processing yards. Integrated High-Pressure Power Pack: 7.5 kW electric motor with high-pressure piston pump, manifold block, and oil cooling system for continuous shift duty. Touchscreen or Push-Button Controls: Simple operator controls with automatic pressure relief valves and safety interlocks on the die enclosure. Interchangeable Die Sets: Quick-change die inserts allow switching between rebar diameters (16, 20, 25, 28, 32, and 40 mm) in under 10 minutes.
